When I first started this process of change in January there was a lot of confrontation with issues that were both present in my life, as well as laying dormant or hidden. I had to plow through a lot of shit. I have found through this very personal experience, that the only way to truly deal with an issue is to meet it head on. Stare it right in the eye. Square off. Then, "ding, ding, ding..fight!". Beat the shit out of it. During the fight you will get bruised. Punched in the gut. Smacked in the face. Kicked in the shins. Ultimately, though, you will be the winner. I promise.
After you beat the crap out of your issue, you have to allow time for your bruises and wounds to heal. Be kind to yourself. Love yourself. And then, when you feel better, start training again. Start practicing all the moves your learned in your fight. Think about your opponent. Think about when it smacked you in your face, kicked you in your shins, or punched you in your gut. Learn how to never allow that to happen again. This is how you will get stronger for your next fight. This is when you realize that your opponent and your bruises have now transformed into your greatest source of strength.
